A member asked:

Can radiologist tell by looking at ct scan if a lung nodule is cancerous my is 6mm he does not think no follow up needed should i get a follow up scan?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Incidentaloma: There is a low likelihood of malignancy in subcentimeter nodules. To some extent there are important distinguishing factors - the benign appearance of calcification appearance, whether it is smooth, lobulated or spiculated and your personal smoking history. It is possible that the radiologist was able to make that call on features that made it likely benign, such that there was no decision needed
