Cyst : Thyroid cyst s are not uncommon but are innocuous and usually do not cause any problems. They are usually small and it is only if they become large that removal may be necessary if they cause pressure problems

Hyperplastic : Sounds like follicular hyoerplasia. The doctor can determine if they are functional or hormone secreting or not. Sometimes the thyroid may enlarge from iodine deficiency- this is termed goiter. I recommend getting a thorough endocrine evaluation and FNA to determine the cause.
