A member asked:

Sudden constant pain under right rib cage, not affected by most movement, only twisting upper body. could it be gallbladder with no pain in abdomen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Right sided pain: If the pain is aggravated by a deep breath it could be emanating from the base of the right lung, a pinched intercostal nerve(which runs between two ribs),injured rib , or inflamed rib cage muscle. Gall bladder or liver inflammation are also possibilities. Gall bladder pain may radiate around to the back. If pain persists, see you physician and appropriate tests will be ordered.
