Hypertrophic tonsils: Enlarged tonsils are common in children, surgery is recommended only if high frequency of infections or obstructive sleep apnea. See an ENT doctor.

Depends on variables: The tonsils grow faster than kids until about age 8 , then slow while the kid continues to grow larger.By the teen years, the tonsils have the same relative size they had in infancy unless they have had many infections.A forked uvula is an interesting feature often connected to a mild posterior cleft palate.Unless the kid has sleep apnea, recurrent disease or other issue, the tonsils are left alone.
