Large site reaction.: It sounds as though your husband has a localized reaction to the venom released in to the tissue. At times the area can be larger than expected and in some cases can take a week to go away. Check the sting site for a stinger, wash the wound with soap and water and apply an ice pack. Elevating the foot higher than the heart will help with the swelling. If needed consult with a doctor.
