A member asked:

Dignosed ra lastyear, prescribed methotrexate for 1 year. but stopped taking them after 10months. no pain now, gained lot weight, what can be reason?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Methotrexate does No: Your weight gain can not be attributed to Methotrexate. It is due to excessive eating, so it could be from other reasons. One other medicine causing weight gain are steroids which are sometimes used for the treatment of RA. Are you sure you are not taking Prednisone or another similar steroid?? Check and let me know?
