Contact MD and DDS: See your primary care MD to rule out concussion or other variables. Possible TMJ involvement due to trauma in addition, a dentist can diagnose that.

No and Yes: No, pain/swelling is not normal. Yes, medical attention is advisable. Call and report your traumatic incident and your current symptoms. Let your practitioners decide if they want to see you or if any additional care is necessary.
