A member asked:

My tonsils are assymmetric. the larger one is spongy with white stones, painless but itchy. should i see an ent?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Asymmetry: You can attempt to gargle the tonsillitis out with salt water (half tsp in 8 oz of warm water), get a curette and attempt to dislodge them. If having infections, halitosis, or bothersome see ENT regarding possible tonsillectomy. Itching more common with allergy. gross asymmetry should be checked for lymphoma.
