It can: TMD can cause symptoms to present a number of ways. Often itchiness can develop around ET/ear as well. Sometimes things like allergies or drainage can affect this too. See your dentist.

Jaw pain: ENT exam was normal? Usual suspects are TMJ (abnormal dental occlusion, arthritis), retro molar trigone pathology (neoplastic) especially with ETOH & smoking. This can cause some itching sensation. Tonsil neoplasm (asymmetry bothers me) or just mucosal allergy. Try Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for allergy. If in front of ear is tender with chewing, see dentist specializing in TMJ. Avoid excess chewing.

Possibly: Hard to say without a thorough exam and history. The symptoms of TMJ/TMD can vary and be many. I suggest seeing a TMJ specialist.

Might be TMJ: Might be TMJ. See a TMJ expert. Any dentist can be a TMJ expert with the proper training and experience. Most commonly, oral surgeons, prosthodontists, and orofacial pain specialists. Ask your MD, your dentist and your dental society for referrals.
