Are the ref ranges for rbc,hgb,hct printed on cbc lab report specific to patient gender or whole pop? is a male in lower end of ref range anemic?

See below: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. it would have helped if you were to provide the actual numbers, rather saying "lower end of range".

Yes: Most labs will adjust for pediatric and adults and some do make allowances for sex. I would not get hung up on the exact number because these things change with time of day, hydration, stress or activity to name a few. If it is normal than it is normal.

CBC normal except for RBC. normal up to 5.8. Many years I alternate from 5.7 to 5.9. HGB, HCT, Platelets always normal range. is this a problem?
My CBC test came with all normal numbers. 3 were off the range: MCH-31.2 ( lab high -31.0) MCHC-31.7(lab low -32.0) MPV-12.2 ( lab high-12.0) Just for info: HGB-14.9; HCT-47; PLT-241; Should I be concern? Thanks!?
