The success rate: is dependent on multiple factors. How long you have had fib. Is it persistent or paroxysmal. What is the size of your left atrium, How obese are you, do you have OSA, etc. A thoracic surgeon will be unlikely to give you information for anything other than MAZE procedures. You need to see and EP for an evaluation and discussion of your success rate.
