Not enough info: Are you in pain on an 8 mile hike after a previous sunburn? Where is the pain? I am assuming it is on the dorsum of the foot? Is the pain in the same location as the burn? Do you have blistering?

Stay off it.: So either the sunburn is causing the pain, which is possible, I guess. The other possibility, among others, is that the 8 mile hike has caused a stress fracture (s) and walking is causing further damage. You need to have the foot examined to get a real sense of the cause of the pain.
