GET CHECKED OUT!: This is concerning - you had second degree burns and now have complications of decreased range of motion, swelling and pain with weight bearing. While these may all just be results of the burn, it is also possible that there is a secondary infection, and if you ignore this at this point could turn into a disaster. Have it checked out today......

It depends...: Stress fractures of the patella or the groove in the femur are relatively uncommon. Healing time depends on many factors: severity of the fracture, age of the patient, compliance with rest and immobilization and whether other negative healing factors are present (smoking, diabetes, etc.). Generally speaking, 8-12 weeks would be typical time for healing.

Follow up with DPM: You may have a chronic problem with a concomittant acute process. It is best to see a foot and ankle specialist. Xrays will show most bony pathologies whereas an MRI will expose underlying soft tissue injury as well as bone and cartilage pathology.
A 37-year-old member asked:

Yes: You describe symptoms of radiculopathy which is when a nerve malfunctions due to some type of pressure on the nerve. You should see your family md for evaluation and they can do an MRI for evaluation. Of course, before surgery, you should try physical therapy and epidural steroid injections if possible.
