A 23-year-old female asked:
is it ok to eat sweets or fried foods on "cheat days"? or do i need to avoid them all together?

You can be human: I assume you are on a weight loss or restricted diet. One of the important things to plan to be successful is to make sure the experience is not so miserable that you cannot maintain it. That's what cheat days are for. If you give yourself a break every once in a while, it makes it more agreeable to continue the plan. Cheating means eating what is normally not allowed, so anything goes.

Each person is: different in terms of how they approach setting healthy nutrition goals or weight loss plans. Some people give themselves "cheat days" to prevent being discouraged. People on low carb diets would probably want to avoid sweets. People on low fat diets would probably want to avoid fried foods. What is important is that our diet is balanced. If you want to lose weight - insure that calories burned

What can I do about clothing that hurts by the end of the day?

Interesting question: Is the question asking what to do about discomfort caused by wearing certain clothing? (clothing itself is not alive and has no feelings.) a person could have some sensory nerve problems in the skin that signal pain when that part of the skin is touched by clothing (a dermatologist or neurologist can look into the matter). One can try wearing different fabrics to see if softer fabrics help.

Why the symptoms of chiari malformations worse on some days, and better on others?

Dr. Gregg Albers answered

Symptoms: This malformation is due to pressure in the brain pushing down on the back portion, the cerebellum. Headaches, nausea, dizziness, muscle weakness, and ringing in the ears (tinnitis). Other neurological symptoms, such as restless leg syndrome, sleep apnea, problems with swallowing. An MRI of the head and specialist care by a neurologist will help to diagnose and treat this problem.

Why do I feel the negative effects of a bad meal still days later?
2 doctor answers • 3 doctors weighed in

Dr. Philip Rosenblum answered
Family Medicine 28 years experience
Takes 4 days: You can expect about a 4 day interval to return to your usual self after a "bad meal.". Food components: proteins, sugars, vitamins etc. Usually take about that long to clear through your body. That is also why people can have so much difficulty figuring out food allergies. There's a lot of overlap in potential causes of symptoma unless they're on a true elimination diet.
