Pain aft extraction: Contact the surgeon and let them know you are still having pain. If they cannot help you, you might want to seek a second opinion. It's possible the pain is related to another tooth or area and not the tooth that was extracted.

Reevaluation: You have done the appropriate thing, contacting your Oral Surgeon for reevaluation. Please contact Surgeon again and report that your pain has not abated. If he/she is not able to help you, please seek a second opinion. Your Dentist should be able to tell if pain is from a different tooth. A different surgeon may have a fresh interpretation of your recent x-rays. Keep pushing for an answer.

Pain from extraction: It is not normal to have extreme pain two weeks after extraction. Mild to moderate pain that was subsiding would be more normal. This deserves both another look by the Oral Surgeon who treated you and an evaluation from a General Dentist who might find another tooth as the cause. Sometimes it's difficult to locate the source of infection, but that is no reason not to be able to timely resolve it.
