Got diagnosed with c diff. got prescription for flagyl today 500mg 3 times a day for 10b days. already took two pills so far. when should i see improvement from the abdominal pain and the diarrhea? also got some probiotic n started that today.

Consider these facts: C. Difficile, when pathologic, is a bacterial infection that may be accompanied by colonoscopically visible signs of colitis. Flagyl is however a tough antibiotic to tolerate and may itself promote some of the symptoms you're already experiencing prior to C.difficile eradication. Be aware also that many probiotics will be killed by the course of Flagyl you describe.

Usually 2-3 days: If the Flagyl and Probiotics are working by 2-3 days your illness should show a sign of improvement. Monitor your outcome and follow up with your MD.
