Sometimes enough: If it is not incredibly high, sometimes all it takes to lower cholesterol is diet and exercise. It's always good to avoid medication if possible. Increase vegetable and fruit intake and lower the fat, sugar and starch (pasta, potatoes, bread and rice) you eat. Your doctor will repeat your test to see how you are doing.
