If you want to: There are good data to suggest cough & cold preparations have little if any benefit to kids under 12. This was gained after studying child directed overdoses that led to ER visits.If you need to do something & feel like it helps, it is okay. However, a little honey & lemon with water would probably be as effective. It would also not perpetuate the idea you always take meds for any level of illness

Not a problem...but-: If you're dealing with a summer cold with acute symptoms, probably not going to get much relief from these meds. Honey and a humidifier will get you better results. But there is no interaction between these two meds and they can be given as you suggest. Just don't leave your child with the idea there qre meds for everything...far from the truth.Supporrtive xare while letting your body do its thing
