Lymph nodes: are normal anatomic structures that can enlarge in response to numerous infectious, inflammatory, neoplastic, or other conditions. How long it lasts depends on what is causing it. If you have unexplained adenopathy(enlarged lymph nodes), see your doc for an evaluation.

Varies: Lymph nodes are one of the filtering systems in the body. Swollen lymph nodes usually occur in response to persistent inflammation, infection, or neoplasticism processes. If you have had 5 months of swollen lymph nodes,, you need to be thoroughly evaluated.
