Depends: Sacro-iliac injections would only be expected to cure symptoms coming from that specific joint. It would be fairly uncommon for sacro-iliac problems to cause pain in the tailbone (coccyx). There is a condition known as Coccydynia. In that case the coccyx is tender and patients have pain sitting down. A steroid injection in the coccyx is the main injection we try for that.
