A donut and patience: Coccydynia or tailbone pain is most likely and has many causes from unknown (most common) to direct trauma, infection, and tumor. It can be treated with a pain reliever or anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen. Limiting sitting for prolonged periods is suggested along with use of a padded cushion or "donut" to protect the tailbone. It can take weeks to months to resolve so be patient.
