A member asked:

What are symptoms of a sacral or coccyx chordoma? is a pointy or sharp tailbone that protrudes a symptom of this disease?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Few symptoms: Chordoma is a rare malignancy of the lower sacrum, typically in male patients over 40. It is often associated with deep pain in pelvis/sacrum, and bowel obstruction due to the mass interfering with evacuation of colon. Neurologic symptoms are rare until late and include sciatica and bowel/bladder dysfunction. Tumors are slow growing, hard to resect/cure, and often found late in the disease.
