Time: Increased body fat and salt (water) retention from systemic cortisone are expected side effects which are usually dose and duration dependent. It may take weeks for the effects to subside after discontinuation of oral steroid. For those who have been on large doses of steroid, the effect may never completely go away. The severity is variable among people. Why are you on steroid?
