Try NSAIDs first: The WHO paid ladder is applicable here. Try NSAID or acetaminophen first, and then if the pain is not contained see your doctor who pay use a more potent NSAID or trial you on an opioid. Depending on how long ago you had the surgery, the cause of the persistent problem should possibly be assessed to rule out infection.
