Sensitive teeth: There are many causes of sensitive teeth in addition to those caused by the whitening process. There are also many techniques to desensitize teeth (patient/dentist applied). This needs to be evaluated on an individual basis. We cannot recommend something sure to help without personally examining you. If your own dentist can't offer a reasonable answer to your question, seek a second opinion.

See below: What type of whitening kit? Is it dental supervised? The percentage of peroxide in the product and the time worn are variables that can lead to sensitivity. Speak to your dentist about the addition of Enamelon or dentist prescribed fluoride worn in a bleaching tray to decrease sensitivity.

Teeth whitening: Some people have more sensitivity to teeth whitening chemicals than others, especially if roots of the teeth are exposed. You did not say what your Dentist suggested in the way of treatment. Often tooth varnishes and/or fluoride containing mouthwashes, especially prescription grade, are helpful. If you are finding no relief, a second opinion may be helpful.
