A member asked:

Is it safe take accutane while using a dentist home teeth whitening trays?

Possibly: Possibly, but be careful. Because Accutane does make the skin more sensitive to irritants such as sunlight and laser treatments, i would be a little concerned that any excess bleaching gel on the gum tissue could be a more severe irritant than normal. Make sure any excess gel is removed after the trays are seated in your mouth, and keep a close eye out for adverse reactions.

No: For all of the reasons stated in the other answers. Other than pre-natal vitamins and folic acid, try to stay away from ingesting anything even the least bit iffy. Always check with your ob/gyn.
