is it safe take accutane while using a dentist home teeth whitening trays?

Possibly: Possibly, but be careful. Because Accutane does make the skin more sensitive to irritants such as sunlight and laser treatments, i would be a little concerned that any excess bleaching gel on the gum tissue could be a more severe irritant than normal. Make sure any excess gel is removed after the trays are seated in your mouth, and keep a close eye out for adverse reactions.

Could be a problem: Accutane known for causing a side effect that damages work on bleached teeth. The drug reacts to bleached teeth by causing a grayish lines on gum lines and staining the work of the bleach on the teeth, making the teeth yellowish. According to discussions on acne.Org, users of the product noticed effects of “little bright dots, similar to white freckles on teeth.

No: For all of the reasons stated in the other answers. Other than pre-natal vitamins and folic acid, try to stay away from ingesting anything even the least bit iffy. Always check with your ob/gyn.

Talk 2 Dermotologist: Ask your dermotologist who prescribed the acutane. But, usually people are not on acutane for very long, so i personally would recommend at you wait until you are off the acutane.
