Weeks to months: Lymph nodes that enlarge in response to an infection do take some time to go down in size. You may watch and wait. You may feel the node every couple of weeks, if the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerate, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, you should see a doctor.
