Different causes: There are many causes of lower back pain ranging from disc herniation to issues involving other organs. Although the fact that your pain worsens while laying down leads me to think its a bone or joint issue, an exact answer would be difficult without further workup and examination by your primary care provider. Please follow up with your PCP for further evaluation and treatment.
