Acute arthritis: This sounds like arthritis. There are too many kinds to say much more than that. Some acute arthritis is caused by infections that might require urgent antibiotic treatment, so see a doctor soon. If joint pain is severe, or makred redness or tenderness of the joint(s), or if you have fever, be seen immediately, even if it means a weekend visit to an urgent care clinic or emergency room.
