May be cyst/abscess: The lump you describe may be a cyst and needs to be checked by your doctor or dentist.The other possibility is an abscess.We need more information like does it hurt or not,is there an bad odor.Do you smoke or chew tobacco.I suggest you have it checkedby your doctor or the Dentist,We don't know how old are you

Lump: Any pain, bleeding, or (as in your case) swelling should be evaluated. It may be an infection, an abscessed tooth. It may be a neoplasm. So many other possibilities. Please have your Dentist evaluate the lesion and administer appropriate treatment.
