Cellulitis: If after 48 or 72 hours, the cellulitis has not stabilized for a patient, there are a number of scenarios. One, it is not cellulitis. Two the current medication is not working for you, and you will need to be switched to another antibiotic. I would follow up with your family physician and ask him/her to reevaluate and see if his initial diagnosis is correct.
