Only x-ray can tell: If this just occurred, then it's reasonable to give this a couple of days of observation, rest, icing and possibly anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen. Only an x-ray can answer the question of whether a fracture is present or not. A contusion/bruise can certainly look like this.
