Why does the wrist area on the thumb side feel weak sometimes (bony part that sticks out). can you sprain your hand without swelling but feel's sore ?

May be tendonitis: In most cases you would recall a sprain, but with the intermittent symptoms you are describing it may be that you are suffering from tendonitis. May people today suffer from tendonitis around the thumb from overuse (i.e. Smart phone use). Start your treatment with rice, and see a physician if symptoms don't subside. You may benefit from ot or a custom splint.

? osteoarthritis: Base of the thumb is the most common site to see early osteoarthritis in the upper extremity that is as good an answer as i can come up with without actually seeing the hand up close and personal.
