Side effects: There are side effects related to the treatment of multiple sclerosis, as well as the effects of the disease itself on attention, concentration and memory. In some cases the addition of antidepressants will improve the cognitive effects and the low mood associated with the condition. A consultation with the psychiatrist could be very helpful.

Common problem: Cognitive issues occur in at least 65% of all ms patients, and the fatigue makes all far worse. Since much is associated with burden of disease, you would be advised to try a more potent medicine. Both tysabri (natalizumab) and Gilenya may assist cognitive and fatigue issues. You might try symptom relief with Nuvigil or modafanil, and galantamine might help memory. Would not continue copaxone.
