Neck Strain..Check .: 38 y/o Female says, Sharp pain lower left backside of head. It hurts when I move my head and it's going on 8 hours. I'm a 38 y/o woman w no medical history. May be severe Neck strain w Muscle spasm due to posture/ activity. More important is the BP and possible bleeding from aneurysm or trauma. Check BP first, then see MD for proper Diagnosis & management.

Isolated pain with: movement like you describe usually is from a strain of muscles or sprain of ligament or tendon. If the pain is localized (that is, doesn't travel down your arm) it's most likely a muscle strain. Gentle range of motion of the head and neck, Tylenol or Motrin, and a heating pad will help ease the symptoms while it heals up. Dr. Anne
