A member asked:

My daughter is experiencing fever, pain when swallowing, white patches inside mouth, vomiting and diarrhea (quality: severe) .has not eaten for 3 day?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Doctor can examine: Throat pain can be from a strep infection (antibiotics are needed), a cold or influenza (antibiotics usually not used), or from some other cause such as allergies or irritants. Usually, a person sees the doctor if the sore throat is bothersome, recurrent, or doesn't go away quickly (to check for strep). Severe vomiting or severe diarrhea means a trip to the doctor, regardless of other symptoms.
