Can i take both doxycycline 100 mg. and nitrofurantoin mcr 50 mg. for a kidney and u.t.i. infection.

Unusual treatment: This is an unusal combination of drugs. Your kidney infection and UTI are the same thing. Nitrofurantoin should be used only for lower tract (bladder) but not kidney infections. Doxycycline is a somewhat unusual drug for any UTI. Also, UTIs are uncommon in males. Are you sure you don't have NGU or prostatitis? Doxy is more common for these than for kidney infection. Discuss w/ your doctor.
