Macrobid/Doxycycline: Macrobid is an antibiotic used in treating urinary tract infection. Doxycycline can be used to treat strep infection. Antibiotics of choice for strep throat is penicillin or amoxicillin, for ear infection amoxicillin or augmentin. Important to not self diagnose or use left over antibiotics. Follow up with doctor for definitive evaluation and treatment.
