I have pulled my hamstring. the swelling and bruising have subsided but i have tenderness along the hamstring and the knee. can i get this massaged or should i speak with a doctor first?

I don't think it: will hurt anything to massage the area of tenderness--as long as the massage does not increase or aggravate the discomfort. But I doubt that massage will help that much. Even if the swelling has improved, icing may still provide some pain relief as will ibuprofen/acetaminophen, avoiding reinjury. See your doctor/Sports Med/Orthopedist if pain persists or if instability/locking, etc. Stay well:)
