Seek evaluation: Can be something as simple as Attention Deficit Disorder to a serious problem. To get to the heart of the matter, seek care with your regular physician. I cannot diagnose ADHD just by this question but look up the Adult ADHD Self Report (ASRS) and answer the questions honestly. If you check too many gray boxes, show this to your doctor.

Focusing: Please start w/a visit to your doctor to rule out or identify medical conditions. Then consider seeing a clinical psychologist for testing for possible attention deficit disorder. The psychologist will also look into possible depression or anxiety which can cause these symptoms. Peace and good health.

Psychological tests: The only objective way to find out if you have an attention deficit disorder is by taking either a paper-and-pencil or computerized test that measures attention, concentration and focusing. I also suggest a computerized personality test because there are many other conditions that impact on daily functioning and with either medication and therapy could improve.
