I am experiencing fatigue and upper abdominal pain. can you live a normal life with a portal vein clot?

Not a normal life: The portal vein carries blood from the stomach, spleen, small intestine, large intestine, etc. If the portal vein is blocked, where would all that blood flow to? That is the first problem. Also, the portal vein flows into the liver allowing the liver to process both the good and bad stuff absorbed by our gut from our food and drink. If the portal vein is blocked, the liver can't process the stuff.

Portal vein clot.: A clot or thrombosis of the portal vein is usually a potentially serious problem. The portal vein is formed from the junction of the splenic and superior mesenteric vein and a clot of the portal vein will lead to new veins(collaterals) forming around the portal vein to drain the intestines. This usually leads to portal hypertension, ascites and even esophageal varices and bleeding. You need follow up
