See a doctor now: Chest pain needs to be taken seriously. Even atypical sided chest pain can mean a blocked blood vessel in your heart and can have serious consequences. Other possible causes are Reflux, inflammation of the food pipe (oesophagitis), chest infection, a clot in your lung and so on. You need to see your doctor immediately

Patients who: use the word "stinging" to describe their pain are usually referring to "nerve mediated" pain. In the chest the nerves come from the neck and may be "pinched" between the 5th and 6th neck verterbrae' Just a thought...hope it helps! Dr Z
