Yes: It certainly can and chest pain from pleurisy (inflammation of the pleura or lining of the lungs) is one of the diagnostic criteria for lupus. Of course there are many reasons for chest pain in patients with and without lupus, so see your primary care physician for further evaluation.

Lupus: Lupus patients are prone for coronary artery disease. When their corona rise are affected, they may experience chest pain.
