A member asked:

Dear sir can i check thyroid during menstrual cycle, dose it make any changes in the results? thank you.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Consistentcy: To determine whether there is an over- or an underfunction of the thyroid gland, measuring thyroid hormone levels during menses will do the job. Thyroid hormone levels do fluctuate within their normal range, though. For peace of mind It may be prudent to check thyroid hormones between day 5 - 7 of the menstrual cycle and perform repeat blood draws on the same cycle day in the AM.
