A member asked:

My 14-mo. old is having frequent blonde colored stools. i'm struggling to get him to eat and drink enough. what foods might cause this? nut butters?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nothing particular: Stool color is dominated by the dark green bile that is added during digestion. This colorizer will go through various shades from green to blond yellows and on to browns as the gut germs metabolise the residual nutrients. Color at exit is basically determined by how long the debris is in the system unless an external additive (food dyes) alters the process.Yellows mean it went through quicker.
