Drink water: Drinking water is important but in this case it wont help much.Use enemas to get her cleaned out and then modify her diet by increasing fiber in her diet in the form of fruits and vegetables, high fibered cereals, nuts , legumes. Reduce milk and milk products.And of course, drink 6-8 glassesof water daily.

Water will soften: However, if she has a stool impaction, then the water will just build up behind it or go around it. She may benefit from stool softeners, senna or exlax, or magnesium citrate. If those do not help, she could possibly use suppositories. Best of luck and i hope this helps.
