Pain in jaw: Is the pain sudden, or is it a jaw pain you get when you wake up? Was there a trauma? This jaw pain could be related to an issue with your tmj, clenching, grinding, etc. It is never a bad idea to see someone right away if you are concerned. It is better to hear there is nothing and to go home, then to hear i wish you came in earlier. See a dentist or if you are concerned go to er.

NO: Could be your wisdom teeth or TMJ problem or multiple cavities or trauma or cross bite et.Al. See a dentist first.

Probably not: You gave us very little information to work with. When was your last dental checkup and was some there some sudden trauma to the jaws? From what you describe, i would first see a dentist for an evaluation. It seems more likely whatever problems you have would be handled better by a dentist rather than by a physician in the emergency room of a hospital. Hospitals rarely have dentists available.
