Valsalva: Straining as when you go number two is known to cause pain related to a disc in your back pressing on nerves.

Doubtful: Though young patients may not have classic sciatica, or shooting pain in the leg past the knee from nerve pressure, your symptoms are not characteristic. Inspiratory pain suggests to me an intercostal or oblique muscle strain/tear. Back to hip pain could indicate a stress fracture (based on your age) that would be worse with leaning backward. "every now and then" isn't too worrisome.
