Dad has been ref'd to specialist and had x-rays for sac behind macular. now needing a fluorescein angiogram. what are they possibly looking for??

Macular edema: I am unclear as to what the "sac" is - are you sure he had X-rays. He might have had a test called an OTC which will detect cysts with fluid underneath the macula. Fluorescein is a dye inject in an arm vein, which will leak from abnormal vessels in the back of the eye. It is a clue to diagnosis and treatment of the retina.
