Sounds appropriate.: Statins are safe and any potential side effects (which are rare) are in general reversible. Long term benefit far outweighs risks.

I believe statins: are safe and prescribe them frequently in my practice. The uncommon side effects--myositis, liver function abnormalities--are almost always totally reversible. But you are young to consider drug therapy. Have you absolutely optimized your lifestyle/diet with more exercise and lower dietary fat? I would like your LDL lower but optimally without drugs if possible. Stay well:)

Yes: But at 29 yrs of age, there is mire you can do. Have you tried lifestyle modification. Not knowing all your medical history limits the advice to be given. Exercise and dietary modification will do a lot to help you. Talk to your doctor. Good luck
